Oh goodness, I’m sitting here typing you this email that is here to celebrate my blog’s 10 year anniversary. That’s crazy. It was like the good-old-days of blogging back then and I feel a little elderly saying I’ve been blogging so long.
Do you know how many hours I have sent typing on my computer on wordpress? A LOT! It makes my head spin thinking of how many hours, and then add up Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Newsletters, and more. It has been a full decade.
I’m so glad I said yes to starting a blog 10 years ago. It has led to where my business is today, and I’m grateful. Here’s a little backstory of the blog… for fun.
I have no idea where the idea really came from, but I loved creating healthy recipes (especially desserts) out of traditional recipes. I had been making things gluten and grain free and taking out the sugar for years. But starting a blog just kind of happend.
We went to church with a dear couple and were great friends with them. He was a web designer and as I was sharing my ideas he said, I’ll build you a blog for free. The only catch is you have to use it.
And use it I did. It was a very simple blog, but is what got me started. And I’ve had 4 blog re-designs since. My business started as a Paleo food blogger, went to a health coach after I left practice as a chiropractor, to healthy lifestyle blogger and podcaster and added in a Beautycounter business halfway through.
Never did I think that simple baby blog 10 years ago would land me here. But God did. And I’m so thankful! It has allowed me to both make an income and stay at home with my kids. I get to be stay at home homeschooling mom + still do something I love doing.
I don’t know what the next 10 years have in store for blogging… but I’m here for it. I have always maintained my blog, even when social media took off (although much more content does land on Instagram these days). But I never gave up blogging.
I love sitting at the computer and telling a story and sharing something helpful. The last blog I wrote was about my cavitations, and I wrote it becasue I knew it would help people. I wrote it because I wished I had a blog like that to prepare for my cavitation removal. So many of my blog posts have come from a place like that. Something I wished was on the internet and I made happen. That’s why I have shared my c-section stories and breech baby flipping tips. I spent a lot of time researching them for myself. And the Encouraging a Breech Baby to Flip remains one of my top read blogposts.
Thank you for following my blog after all of these years. Thank you for subscribing to the newsletter. Thank you for following on my social channels. Thank YOU! I do this because I love teaching about health. But it also is a way to bless our family with an income, and that is thanks to you, my loyal readers and customers.
