I’m Dr. Meghan Birt.
A wife, mom to two girls (Ottava and Evelyn), chiropractor, and healthy living encourager. I’m not in practice as a chiropractor anymore… I get this questions asked all the time… but I spend my work time here in this little corner of the internet.
I help busy women (like you) to simplify health so you can take action every day towards your health goals. Our health is complex and not often an easy thing. Let me simplify it so you’re not stuck being overwhelmed taking no action. I want you to feel like you can make progress towards the healthiest version of you.
The United States is one of the most unhealthy countries in the world. Surprising?? We rank as one of the lowest first world countries in health across the board. We need to do something different than what we are taught to get better results and live healthy. Right?
I’m going to venture to say you want to be healthy.
We all want to be healthy.
We all desire to raise healthy kids, but there’s so much conflicting information on how to get there.
And the natural health world can be confusing too. Where do you start? You want to be healthy, full of energy, eat the right nutritious foods. But how do you do this? How do you make changes? Wait, all of that stuff is even in my skincare? It feels like you just can’t win.
I have loved natural health and nutrition since high school. When I started learning about how food could influence your body positively and negatively I got hooked. Right then and there I wanted to learn and know more.
I wanted to eat foods that would keep me healthy long term and feel full of energy. When I started learning this, I was feeling good. I had energy, my digestion was good, I could focus.
Just after I graduated high school, I entered a health crisis. Thankfully, I had a foundation of natural health to lean on.
It was just the beginning – a starting place where I could continue to learn to heal my body over the next decade.
I was 18 and had gone from feeling great to feeling:
- incredibly bloated
- chronically tired
- overwhelmed with brain fog
- craving sugar intensely
- feeling like a fragment of myself
And I had no idea why.
I assumed it was from a lack of willpower, eating at a not-so-healthy cafeteria.
I thought it was all my fault.
This went on for a few years. I knew I didn’t feel great, but I didn’t know it wasn’t normal. I kept going on through college and eventually into chiropractic school. I only made it through chiropractic school because of the strength of God.
Each year I felt worse, but I loved chiropractic and everything I was learning, and that helped to keep me moving forward. It wasn’t until I was almost graduated that I finally realized I didn’t feel well and there was something I could do about it to heal my body. (Yes, it took me that long to fully realize it).
I believe that we get sick and symptoms begin when there’s a perfect storm. It’s not always one event, but a series of events and stressors on our bodies that create toxicity or stir up stored toxins. That was me in the summer after I graduated high school. So many things happened that summer and my body couldn’t keep up with the stress and toxic overload on my system.
When I finally realized I didn’t feel well I was about to graduate and was in a seminar learning about advanced healing. I thought I was weak and lacked willpower. I thought I was a failure because I couldn’t stay away from sugar and my hunger was out of control. My symptoms weren’t normal and was my body’s warning to me that something more was going on.
Nope, just a nasty parasite making me crave sugar and throwing my hunger hormones out of whack. I thought I was lazy because I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning, but it was the leaky gut, thyroid imbalance and adrenal fatigue sapping all of my energy.
Does any of this sound familiar to you?
All of the pieces of the puzzle came together in a couple months and I could begin my long road of healing ahead of me.
I wish I could tell you my healing was quick. I took a few supplements, killed off a parasite, removed a few foods I was eating and voila… health restored. No way. But healing rarely happens that quickly.
It took time. Healing takes time. It took energy (sometimes energy I didn’t feel I had) and it took money. But, it was 1000% worth it. I took knowing that anything I put in or on my body could affect my health. And I really started switching my nutrition, exercise, cleaning products and personal care products.
I got my health back. It taught me some important life and health lessons along the way.
Ultimately, led me to start a blog, podcast, and all of the other aspects of my business so I am able to share it with you.
I’ve walked this road myself. And many days continue to.
Getting to the root of our health challenges can be hard. But the truth is, it is possible. Sometimes you have to hire someone (I really do recommend this), but we ALL NEED to learn to support our health with our lifestyle. We need to know what to do and how to do it on a daily and consistent basis.
Remember, nobody and nothing is perfect, but good habits create good and lasting rewards in our health.
We need to learn to go against the grain of how our country thinks about health, food, exercise, etc. Let’s do it differently and stay healthy.
I started Just Enjoy Health because of my health story. I wanted to share the transformative powers of natural health and working with our bodies and how they are wired to function. I worked one-on-one with patients for 5 years in practice. I specialized in nutrition, digestive health, detox and hormone health. I left practice to have my family, but I didn’t leave the passion I had for helping people. I love to use the training I have, the seminars I still attend and learn from and am now able to apply it online to help more people in this simplified format.
I went from being bloated all the time, exhausted, not being able to work full time, not being able to get up early, and craving all the sugar all the time. I worked hard figuring out the root cause of my health issues. I did many different tests, detoxes and supplements. And then living the lifestyle to support all of this.
I had the courage to order a lipstick that would change the course of my business – all because the company (Beautycounter) was conscious enough to do heavy metal testing. By that point, I knew that nothing was too small when it came to my health, and that lipstick turned into a cornerstone of my business and life.
God is good. I now have energy to be a mom, run a household and run a business. Feeling good (read not perfect) changes your days. Having more energy allows you to live out your callings and do good work.
You may be feeling a lot like my story. You may resonate with a lot of it and throw your hands in the air saying YES, I want to feel better and I want to know how to live healthier.
That’s why I am here. I want to help you wherever you are in your journey. Whether it is the beginning and learning about gluten is new to you. Or maybe you’ve been doing this a while, you know quite a bit, but just need some encouragement, tips, and new tricks to add to your toolbox because we are always learning. I’m here for each of you.
Come here busy women and moms. I want to be one of your trusted resource. I don’t know everything, but I know how to take information and filter it through my years of training so you can take the simplified form and apply it to your life. We aren’t all researchers and not all of us have the capacity to do this ourselves. I did this in practice with my patients and now I am here to help you out.
I talk a lot about creating your Healthy Living Toolkit. Filling it with all sorts of information you can use on the daily or when you need it (like when you have a cold).
You’re here and I’m glad you are!
I talk a lot about food, nutrition, clean beauty, supplements, stress management, a less toxic home and so much more. I want you to be always growing in your knowledge of how to take the best care of yourself and your family.
This natural health world is hard to navigate. I want to help you out with some resources to get started. I’m on a mission to simplify healthy living for busy women so they can begin to just enjoy food, just enjoy health, and just enjoy life.

Here’s what a few people had to say about Just Enjoy Health
“Dr. Meghan” is now a common name around our home and we all feel as if you are a close and personal friend/ doctor. You inspire me and are creating a fire in me.
I’m so thankful for all of the information you provide on Facebook, your blog and through podcasts. You are a wealth of information and you have a wonderful way of presenting it.
I truly appreciate this podcast and Dr. Meghan’s focus on physical AND spiritual health. Sometimes the Christian community overemphasizes NOT focusing on physical health (rightfully, our spiritual health is ultimate) that it is neglected and keeps us from serving the Lord because of disease and digestive discomfort. Dr. Meghan presents health topics in a shame-free light that informs the listener and often provides some action steps. She’s straightforward and practical with a voice that transmits care and concern.
Thank you for your transparency, research, and willingness to share it all with us, Dr. Meghan!
I’m so hungry for wellness information from a faith-based perspective. Dr. Meghan is knowledgeable, genuine, and a wealth of practical information. While listening to her podcast I kept thinking, “I am not alone as a crunchy mama!”
