These last few months have sparked many new and exciting ideas for my website (formerly Just Enjoy Food). I have been feeling this stirring in my spirit to take my simple recipe blog into a more intentional business with a more specific focus to help more people. Over the last 2.5 years I have posted recipes and given some resources here and there to support a healthier life. It’s been a fun hobby and one that I have used as a great resource while being in practice as a chiropractor. It never went any farther than being a resource for you to reference. I had no more mental energy to do any more than publish posts and share on social media.
The end of 2014 I felt inspired. I felt a wind in my sails about what my business and this website could be and what I personally loved doing in natural health. I love seeing women shine where God has them. And specifically seeing women reaching their potential in the purpose that God has called them to, whatever that may be because they were experiencing abundant health. This could be for a single college girl, a newly married woman, moms with one or multiple children and empty nesters. Really, women of any age. I see a need and that need has brought me inspiration. I see a need for women to be inspired and educated about how they think about their health. Inside and out! We spend so much time focusing on many areas and aspects of our lives. But what is often forgotten about is our health.
I believe that we don’t live to our full potential without being healthy
I believe it because I’ve experienced it in my own life. I was physically unhealthy for the majority of my 20’s. I suffered from an extremely unhealthy digestive system, and for me, feeling bloated everyday was a way of life. I felt like I was only a shell of a person and I always felt guilty about not being able to “rise up” and be the woman I was called to be. It wasn’t until my health improved was I able to see real growth and change in my heart and life. When I was sick I was just surviving, I wasn’t thriving.
I want you to thrive!
The other evening I was reading in Streams in the Desert. It was one of those times I was feeling pulled to read it before going to bed. I was blown away by what it said and it was the reason I wrote this post. It summed up what I see and believe I was called to do. Why I do what I do.
Comfort, comfort my people, says your God (Isaiah 40:1)
Store up comfort. This was the prophet Isaiah’s mission. The world is full of hurting and comfortless hearts. But before you will be competent for this lofty ministry, you must be trained. And your training is extremely costly, for to make it complete, you too must endure the same afflictions that are wringing countless hearts of tears and blood. Consequently, your own life becomes a hospital ward where you are taught the divine art of comfort. You will be wounded so that in the binding up of your wounds by the Great Physician, you may learn how you render first aid to the wounded everywhere. Do you wonder why you are having to experience some great sorrow? Over the next ten years you will find many others afflicted in the same way. You will tell them how you suffered and were comforted. As the story unfolds, God will apply the anesthetic He once used on you to them. Then in the eager look followed by the gleam of hope that chases the shadow of despair from the soul, you will know why you were afflicted. And you will bless God for the discipline that filled your life with such a treasure of experience and helpfulness.
God comforts us not to make us comfortable but to make us comforters. John Henry Jowett
I suffered with my health for ten years. There’s no other way to say it other than this was a hard period in my life. I wish I could sugar coat it, but that doesn’t help anyone. I have learned over the last couple years that my pain was for a purpose. Not one second was wasted. It sparked this fire in my spirit to bring the same comfort that God, the Great Physician, gave me during my healing to you. I want to focusing on teaching women principles on how to love our bodies where they are at, feed them well, move them well, and walk a path of lifelong healing with a focus on digestive health.
My training ground was my own health struggles. I have spent so much time traveling around to different seminars that I now know has equipped me to help others. I want to help you through encouragement, through groups and individual one-on-one coaching for anyone who needs that.
I want to render first aid to the wounded. Are you wounded?
Do you struggle with your health? Have an unhealthy relationship with food? Do you feel crappy about your body and have some pretty nasty self talk? Do you feel like you are only a shell of a person because of health issues? I’ve been there.
Can I comfort you via the lessons I’ve learned?

This website has lacked community and is something that I am now craving to make a part of this website. Imagine this: an entire community of women learning together and spurring each other on in their health and growing deeper in knowledge and information together. That’s inspiring to me and I hope it is to you too!
Wanna join me? I want to hear from YOU. What is something you’ve learned about your health (diet, exercise, self-care, etc.) in the last few months that has helped you be more purposeful in your life?
This is my mission:
To empower, encourage and educate women to reach their full purpose and potential through focusing on taking care of our health, the importance of self care and loving the body that God gave you.
This is my vision:
To be involved with a group of women who are inspired to live healthy lives which equips them to reach their full potential. Go grow an online community of women who are learning and growing together in their health knowledge that will benefit themselves and their families.
I want to see women empowered by the knowledge that our bodies were created to heal and choose to live life differently than the world because our health matters!
