Ep. 76: Postpartum Tips for Naturally Minded Moms

Podcast

Ep. 76: Postpartum Tips for Naturally Minded Moms | MeghanBirt.com

Around the world, the postpartum period is considered to be a sacred and special time during which a mother is born, as well as her baby.

Many cultures have special practices and customs that serve to recognize and honor this special time, and women aren’t expected to “bounce back” or jump right back into their usual lives.

In the US though, we have a long way to go, which is why I’m so passionate about sharing the practical, quick tips that I personally found to be the most helpful or surprising, to help you feel more prepared for postpartum.

My hope is that these tips will help you set realistic, healthy expectations for what your postpartum recovery and transition period should look like (otherwise known as the 4th trimester!) so you can prepare in advance to take good care of both your baby, and yourself.

What You’ll Hear:

  • The importance of taking time to “get to know” your baby
  • Why it’s OK to have questions (and encouragement to think of people you can ask!)
  • The reason rest is so important, and some practical guidelines to help you prepare
  • The magic benefits of belly binding, and what kind of binder I loved best
  • The truth about breastfeeding, so you aren’t surprised when you hit challenges
  • Why you might want to consider limiting postpartum visitors
  • The importance of postpartum chiropractic adjustments
