We’ve Been Keeping a Good Secret…

Faith and Encouragement· Pregnancy, Birth, and Baby

Hey friends… our family has a secret to tell you. We’ve been keeping it hidden for the last 6 months and we are ready to share it with the world.

Sweet baby Birt is on her way at the end of July of this year. Yes, another girl is being added to the family!

Yep, that means I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant. So this baby news has been a long time coming.

I’m sure many of you are wondering how and why we kept this secret for so long? Well, we didn’t quite intend it to be this long. But the longer the pregnancy went on, the more fun it was to keep this our little secret. When I’m pregnant I get even more introverted and reflective. And it has also been fun to enjoy these many parts of pregnancy with our close friends and family.

But now, pregnancy, labor and birth tend to be the main things on my mind. And I want to share the rest of this process with you all. Plus, it has been getting pretty hard to hide this pretty big baby bump, and the fact that I have gained about 20 pounds. (Enter all of the cropped photos, close up Facebook Live’s and words over my abdomen on Instagram Stories).

I wonder if some of you could have guessed? I think I’ve been pretty good at hiding it, but who knows, maybe some of you have been suspicious. You should let me know… surprised or not?

We decided to find out the gender this pregnancy, which we didn’t with Ottava’s pregnancy. And it has been equally as fun knowing the gender this time as it was not knowing when pregnant with Ottava. We have a hard time figuring out a boy’s name and the main reason we wanted to find out was to see if we needed to think of a boy’s name, or else use the girl’s name that we already decided on.

Baby girl Birt has a name, but we won’t be sharing it until she is born.

I have 10ish more weeks of pregnancy. And you better believe I’m going to start sharing all of the pregnancy, birth, baby things with you all in the future. As for the blog and podcast, I have been working hard planning ahead to keep bringing you content during maternity leave. I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes! And there are some great podcast coming this summer and fall!
