Podcast

Ep. 77: Tracking Cycles and Natural Family Planning with Holly Grigg-Spall | MeghanBirt.com

Today we’re talking all about female cycle tracking and natural family planning with expert Holly Grigg-Spall, author of Sweetening the Pill: Or How We Got Hooked on Birth Control.

We’re diving into the truth about hormonal birth control, how to take your fertility into your own hands, and how doing so can help you both prevent pregnancy or get pregnant, while improving your overall health.

Holly-Grigg Spall is a former journalist and hormonal birth control convert currently serving as consulting producer on a documentary inspired by her book, directed by Abby Epstein and executive produced by Ricki Lake.

Holly is also currently an ambassador for the Daysy fertility tracker and a marketing consultant for several women’s health-centric companies.

What You’ll Hear:

  • Holly’s personal experience with the birth control pill and coming off it
  • The importance of women gaining body literacy
  • An overview of hormonal birth control (how it works, the dangers, the side effects, etc)
  • Why it’s important to understand and learn to track your cycle
  • How the fertility awareness method and natural family planning work
  • Why manual cycle tracking can be challenging (and how Daysy makes it easy!)
  • How understanding all of this can help you better understand your body, lead to greater overall health, as well as both prevent pregnancy or get pregnant
  • Tips for navigating fertility tracking postpartum
