Winter means dry skin for me. Last year I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and the dry skin was like nothing I’d experienced before. I swear my skin had scales on it it was so dry. I really needed a skincare routine to help it and I went searching for the perfect combo in all of my Beautycounter products. I came up with my routine below.
One thing I wish I had last winter was the Overnight Resurfacing Peel. That came later, but helped get my skin in the best shape it has been in currently and I haven’t had the same level of dry skin because of this particular product.
Here’s what I used that helped so much:
Step 1
I wash my face with the Countercontrol Cleanser. I love that it exfoliates because it helps with my dry skin. I know that this product is for acne prone skin and oily skin, which I have neither of, but it works great for me. I don’t feel like this cleanser is too drying. If I am taking off my eye makeup, I’ll often use the Makeup Remover Wipes or else my Cleansing Balm with a Norwex body cloth. I LOVE the Norwex body cloths. I use them as washcloths for the girls. Hit up your friend who’s a Norwex consultant to purchase these.
Step 2
After I wash my face, I apply a facial oil. My favorite is the #2 Plumping Facial Oil. It is the oil that is most formulated for hydration, although they all work. I use about 4-5 drops at night. I don’t use it in the morning, but some people love 1-2 drops in their moisturizer in the morning. It feels a bit too thick for me, but it is an option for more hydration.
Step 3
The moisturizer I use is the Rejuvenating Night Cream and Rejuvenating Day Cream for the daytime for extra hydration. I love these products and the Rejuvenating line is my favorite line because of the added moisture. It also contains an anti-aging component too, so it’s great for anyone, especially if you want some younger looking skin. Also, the biggest thing I’ve learned about younger looking skin is hydration. Hydrated skin is younger looking skin. So, keep your skin hydrated!
Step 4
I then layer on 2 different hydrating products. I use Primally Pure’s Beauty Cream because I love the tallow in it (my only non-Beautycounter skincare product) and the Cleansing Balm. I put the cleansing balm on last and leave it on all night. If I really need more hydration, I will use both of these products. Sometimes I use one or the other. If I am cutting corners in my skincare at night because I just want to go to bed, I’ll wash my face and put the cleansing balm on top. It is my top hydrating product for a quick nightly routine.
Step 5
The last product I use, but isn’t in my every-night routine is the Overnight Resurfacing Peel.
THIS PRODUCT, friend, has made the biggest difference in my dry skin.
It is able to get rid of the look of my dry skin. It clears away that top layer of dry skin overnight because of the active ingredients in it. I didn’t have the product last year, and I can tell it makes the biggest difference this year. I will use the Resurfacing Peel after I cleanse and let it sit on my skin for 5 minutes before I apply any other products to my face. I would recommend using the peel 3-5 nights a week.
