7 Layer Salad

Recipes· Side Dishes & Salads

IMG_6584

The 7 layer salad is a famous salad in our household. I have been eating it as long as I can remember. It’s easy, filling, delicious and is naturally a healthy salad. My mom passed on the recipe to me and it’s something I make for groups and holidays because it’s easy, you can make it the day before and it feeds a crowd.

Ingredients

8 ounces lettuce

1 package bacon, cooked and diced

1/2 cup celery, diced

1/2 cup onion, finely diced

1/3 cup tomatoes, diced

1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed

1 cup organic raw cheddar cheese, grated

1 cup grapeseed oil or avocado oil mayonnaise (or homemade mayonnaise)

Directions

  • This salad is made in layers as written by the recipes above
  • In a medium sized bowl add the lettuce to the bottom
  • Layer the rest of the salad as written in the ingredients: bacon, celery, onion, tomato, peas, cheese and mayo
  • Spread the may on with a spatula
  • Serve chilled, salad is best after being refrigerated for at least 4 hours, even overnight
