Growing Stronger In Faith Through Chronic Illness With Phylicia Masonheimer

Wife, mom, blogger, author, and speaker, Phylicia Masonheimer is teaching Christians to know what they believe and to live it boldly. She’s combining church history, theology, and scriptural teaching to bring to light the rich context and truth of the bible for the average Christian. Phylicia’s new book, Stop Calling Me Beautiful shows why theology is important for women, and the connection between theology, your faith, and health.

Listen in as Phylicia shares her wisdom.

Phylicia Masonheimer and Stop Calling Me Beautiful

Phylicia Masonheimer does it all. She is a wife, mom, blogger, author, speaker, and business owner. Most recently, Phylicia’s book, Stop Calling Me Beautiful was released and is one that will meet you at any phase of your life, gets to the heart of who we are in Christ, what the gospel is meant to do, and how the gospel changes our lives.

Why Theology Is Important To Women

Phylicia explains that when Jesus left earth, He gave the Great Commission to all of his disciples, men and women alike. Therefore, women should know why we, as Christians, believe what we do. This knowledge affects relationships with family, friends, co-workers and ultimately leads to greater devotion to Jesus.

The Relationship Between Theology, Faith, and Health

Phylicia has dealt with chronic illness for several years. She resonated with the bible passage  about a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years and spent much of her time and money on care from doctors, but in the end, the only one who healed her, was Jesus. Through this story and further bible study, Phylicia learned to continue to be faithful in her beliefs. She stresses that when things don’t go as planned, even with prayer, that there is still purpose and God has something he is doing through each of these moments.

Has your relationship with God helped your health journey?
