JEH #68: Why Safe Skincare is Important with Kate Criswell

Podcast

When you put on your makeup or wash your hair, are you looking at the ingredients to see what you are putting in your body? Our skin is our largest organ, so when you use unsafe products, it is going right into you!

Today I have Kate Criswell on the podcast! Kate has been with Beautycounter for the last few years and is an abundance of knowledge when it comes to safe skincare and makeup. We are talking all about safe skincare and focusing on Beautycounter and why this company is so amazing!

Check out this week’s episode and the show notes for how to be safe when it comes to caring for your skin.

Kate Criswell is a former athlete and nutrition/fitness guru. Kate was given a curveball of a gluten and dairy free lifestyle over fifteen years ago. Over this time, she has spent countless hours trying to make her unhealthy meals healthy and has learned to love it! Kate left her career of fitness and nutrition coaching for an amazing career with Beautycounter because she couldn’t ignore the fact that skin is the largest organ in the body and what we put on it really matters! You can find Kate over at Kate’s Healthy Cupboard or on Instagram and Facebook!

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: BEAUTYCOUNTER

Did you know that the personal care industry has very little regulation in our country?

Companies are allowed to include known toxins in their products – ingredients that are linked to hormone disruption, fertility issues, cancer and more.

And they aren’t required to disclose these ingredients with you. Sounds wrong, right?
I have been aware for a number of years that our personal care products don’t have enough regulations in this country to be called safe.

I’ve known I needed to switch my products and throw away some of the more toxic things, but my problem was that I couldn’t find products that worked well!

Everything I tried left my skin feeling dry and my makeup looking like I hadn’t put anything on after 10 am.

It was a real problem and I wanted to give up trying to find good and safe products…that is, until I discovered Beautycounter!

beautycounter

Beautycounter is committed to a health and safety standard that goes well beyond what’s required by U.S. law.

They’ve banned the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through their “Never List”—all while ensuring their products perform and that they’re as indulgent as any other luxe shampoo, lipstick, or oil in the market.
