JEH #65: How to Eat to Prevent Inflammation and Fight Cancer with Kim Maravich

Podcast

When we think of food, it can be scary to think that there are foods we are eating that help cause chronic inflammation and cancers.

Did you know that chronic inflammation can be something as simple as a sore throat all the way to depression or an autoimmune disease?

Did you know that only 5-10% of cancers are related to genes?

This means that there are things we need to do to heal our bodies and tools/systems we need to develop to help fight mutated cells and hormones.

Today, I have Kim Maravich joining me to talk all about these foods and foods that can help PREVENT inflammation and cancer. I am so excited to have her on because she is just a wealth of knowledge on the topic. Check out the episode below! (Keep a pen and paper handy; there’s so many golden nuggets!)

Kimberly Maravich’s background as an RN led to her passion for preventative healthcare and nutrition. While pursuing a BA in English, her love of writing began. She also has an MA in Teaching and worked for more than 12 years as an elementary school teacher. She now combines her talents and enjoys educating and encouraging others to optimize their health through her writings.

She believes that self-care is the deepest form of love, as we can’t fully care for others when we put ourselves last. Good nutrition, moderate exercise, and great sleep are the keys to physical health. Just as importantly, gratitude, prayer and spiritual practice, and friendships do wonders for overall wellness.

Kim lives outside of Pittsburgh, PA with her loving husband and two adorable little boys. Their home is filled with excitement, laughter, and much love.

You can purchase Kim’s book 360 Health: Your Guide to Cancer Prevention, Healing Foods, & Total Body Wellness here.
