Chocolate chip pie. That’s what I heard that my husband called french silk pie when he was growing up. It was his favorite pie. Well, really anything that contains chocolate is my husbands favorite. When he was growing up he didn’t like the fruit pies or the pumpkin pie that was served at holidays. So because of that his mom would make him french silk pie with chocolate chips sprinkled on top. That’s why it got the name chocolate chip pie.
This pie is DIVINE!! And it has the best grain free pie crust that you’ve had. This whole recipe is from my mother in law. I can’t take the credit for this pie, but I’m beyond excited to bring you this recipe. This will become one of your favorite desserts. I’m also not one who loves the more traditional pies. I prefer banana cream pie or this french silk pie. It’s become one of my favorites! Plus, it’s pretty easy to make. Oh, and I bet nobody will even know that it’s grain free!
Ingredients
1 Recipe of The Best Grain Free Pie Crust
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup honey

2 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup whipped cream

Were you and your husband childhood friends? Because you said chocolate chip pie is what you heard him calling growing up. Don’t mean to be too intrusive; just curious.

Hey Amanda-
I’m just getting back from maternity leave so forgive me for taking so long to reply to you. I will totally answer your question… my hubby and I didn’t grow up together. His mom told me about the chocolate chip pie so I just know via a story that it was his favorite. I wish I knew him when he was younger, that would have been fun!
