Why You Feel Like You’re Failing at Intuitive Eating

Articles· Nutrition· Women's Health

Eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. This is a simple statement, and often it is way more complex than this. Eating when you are hungry and stopping when you are full is called intuitive eating.

We need to stop denying ourselves when we are hungry and trying to eat less, we throw off our natural hunger signals. Listen to your body.

We need fuel to heal. And food is fuel.

I also want to add this in. Sometimes your hunger and full symptoms are really mixed up. You are always hungry. Or don’t know when to stop eating. Or are alway craving. Does this sound like you?

Maybe you’re not hungry. You feel full after a little bit of food. And you don’t have a morning appetite.

These are all signals of something else. You can have a microbial imbalance like parasites. You could have an inflammatory process going on. Or have a biotoxic illness throwing off your hormones.

This used to be me. I was always hungry, never full, and always craving. And I found out I had a parasite and was living in mold. There was a lot going on in my body. And it wasn’t until I took care of my gut health and inflammation levels I could really listen to my body and intuitively eat.

If intuitive eating is hard, then keep digging until you figure out why. Hire a functional medicine provider to help you dig deeper.
