Ep. 134: If You’re Stressed you Need Magnesium with Kristen Bowen

From the Highest of Highs, to the Lowest of Lows

The Bowen family had just become a party of SIX! What an exciting time, but just after Kristen Bowen gave birth to their fourth child, she noticed that she had a leaky bladder. She was diagnosed with a bladder prolapse and scheduled for the simple corrective surgery, but the surgery ended up being anything except simple. It took hours longer than expected, and she coded (aka: went into cardiac arrest) multiple times while on the operating table. It was a long and arduous recovery, without any answers as to why she had gone into cardiac arrest.

An AHA Moment

As a mother to several children, Kristen was no stranger to being relentless in her search for answers. So looking for a cause for the scariness that happened in the OR was nothing that intimidated her. Without finding anything with typical practicing Western medicine doctors, Kristen was referred to a holistic medicine doctor by a friend that did extensive testing and noticed her magnesium red blood cell content was low. It was recommended she start soaking in magnesium to help with her exhaustion and aid in her recovery. Soon, Kristen was feeling a shift in how well she felt and was motivated to learn more. Only after the soaking stopped working for her did she discover that the company had started watering their product down to the point that it was too diluted to work anymore.

A Passion Becomes a Business

Frustrated with feeling like her wellbeing and recovery was at the mercy of another company’s financial decision, Kristen was on a mission to do something about it. Not only for herself, but for others. She did the groundwork, exploring the ins, outs, and details of magnesium, and founded her own business making several magnesium rich self-care products to help others. The business is a full family affair! Obtaining their magnesium from the very best source, the Zechstein sea, they make a full range of products for people of every age, from newborns to the elderly. And since magnesium plays an essential role in each part of our body, it is crucial that we try to maintain magnesium “cell saturation”.
