Crunchy Balm Review and Giveaway

This stuff is the BALM!

That’s what Emilie of The Toups Address has to say about this tallow balm. I totally agree! I had the opportunity to get a jar of this balm to review (and do a giveaway for YOU) and I am in love with this stuff. Absolutely and completely.

What is CrunchyBalm?

Crunchy Balm is a healing whole-skin tallow balm. Tallow is like lard, but it’s rendered from beef. And the tallow in the crunchy balm is 100% grass-fed which is important because our skin absorbs anything you put on it. Tallow makes the balm full of natural fats and minerals. You may be wondering why I want to put tallow on my face?

This may sound a little silly, but we are mammals and our skin need some good old animal fat nourishment sometimes. It’s not found very much in skincare products. I will say, I’m ok with that because if you could buy a mass produced tallow balm at a store it would probably be made with a low quality tallow. I want the good stuff. The tallow literally feeds your skin nourishment and makes it soft and so healthy.

What have I Noticed and How do I Use it?

I have used the Crunchy Balm for about 2 weeks now. From the moment I used it I was totally in love. I naturally have dry skin. In the winter it’s worse and in pregnancy it’s worse. So this winter I’ve had some really dry skin! If I miss a night of putting a deep moisturizer on my skin I will pay with extremely dry skin for the next few days. The tallow balm has helped my dry skin better than anything else I’ve used (ever) in the winter time.

Another thing I noticed with the balm was that it isn’t super greasy. I don’t like greasy lotions, body butters or creams. It makes me feel like I don’t want to put my head on my pillow at night. The Crunchy Balm is the perfect balance kind of moisturizing, but it doesn’t leave a really sticky or greasy residue on your skin. So far I’ve only used it at night and slept with a generous amount on my face, but I bet I could even use it in the morning under my make up if I applied less of it. This is staying in my nightly skincare routine!

Like I said, I’m really picky about quality products, they have to be safe and healthy for my skin and body. But I am also very picky about how something feels on my skin and if it works really well or not. And one more thing, it has to be easy to use because I am so low maintenance with my skin care and if there’s too many steps or something is too complex, I won’t use it. It’s Your Turn to Try it!

Do you have dry skin? Or need some more life breathed into your skin? You have to get some Crunchy Balm. I always get the question about people that have oily skin. Can you put tallow or another type of fat/oil on your skin without making your skin more oily or welcoming breakouts? Actually, by using the fat or oil on your skin it encourages your skins moisture to balance out and can lead to less breakouts and even healthier skin. If you have dry skin you also can have luxuriously soft skin by using this balm.

Update: We use the Crunchy Balm on Tava. We do fragrance free coconut and jojoba oil on her skin and the amazing tallow balm. That’s all. The Crunchy Balm is more nourishing to her skin and often works better than the oils. We use the unscented one on her skin. She smells a bit like beef broth, but it works so well. As she gets older I’m going to use the one that’s scented with essential oils.

But I’m also doing a giveaway so enter for your chance to WIN a jar of Crunchy Balm:
