Well, Valentines Day is Just around the corner. My husband and I aren’t big for going out on Valentines Day. Both of our birthdays are in February, so there’s a lot to celebrate in February for us. For Valentines day we like to stay in and make a nice dinner and a nice dessert. To us, Valentines Day has to include CHOCOLATE! We love chocolate at our house and I know many of you do too! So to honor a love for chocolate on a holiday that loves chocolate I am giving you 14 chocolate dessert recipes for Valentines Day 2014 on the 14th of February.
Enjoy and Happy Valentines Day!!

1. Chocolate Pudding:
This is a traditional pudding recipe and an extremely rich dessert that is free of sugar. Topped with fresh whipped cream and you have the perfect dessert for two. (Recipe Here)
2. Chocolate Pots De Creme
This is one of the richest chocolate desserts on my blog. Plus, it’s actually really easy to make! It combines coffee + chocolate. Who doesn’t love that combination? If you are only making this recipe for two, cut the recipe in half. You still may have some leftover. (Recipe Here)
3. Peanut Butter Cups
A dessert full of healthy fats and peanut butter. If you make this recipe you will sure to have leftovers for the next couple of weeks. This is one of my absolute favorite recipes to make because it means I always have a chocolate treat around the house when a sweet craving comes around! (Recipe Here)
4. Chocolate Ganache Pie
This recipe came about because of a failed stuffed cookie recipe. But it ended up being a good thing because this amazing pie came out of the kitchen failure. I created a buttered coconut crust, added gelatin to the ganache (so the pie sets up) and it was rich, creamy and wonderful! Phil and I ate the whole thing in a week. This recipe makes enough to share with someone else. (Recipe Here)
5. Homemade Nutella
This recipe isn’t a complete dessert in itself. But Nutella is so popular that I had so share my refined sugar-free version of nutella. The Nutella you buy in a store contains a ton of sugar. I believe over 50% of the ingredients is sugar. You’ll be surprised how good this tastes and it’s actually good for you. (Recipe Here)
6. Espresso Cupcakes
I purchased some espresso salt from a cute little spice and tea shop in the area and I made cupcakes with espresso and this salt. Sweetened with dates, this recipe is sure a treat. I don’t use dates or eat dates that often, but for valentines day, go for it! (Recipe Here)
7. Flourless Fudgy Brownie Bites
I had to make these fudgy brownie bites into the shape of roses in honor of Valentines Day. But don’t think that you have to, you can also make these in a mini-muffin tin. These brownies are flourless and full of chocolate! (Recipe HERE)
8. Chocolate Banana Tart
This is an amazing recipe from Strands of My Life. First off, it’s beyond beautiful! Secondly, it combines chocolate and bananas. With a coconut flour crust and a chocolate and banana filling sweetened with dates, this tart will blow you away this Valentine’s Day! (Recipe Here)
9. Chocolate Covered Cherries
This recipe is from A Girl Worth Saving. I absolutely love Kelly: her blog, her recipes, her photos. They are amazing! If you haven’t been to her website, go ahead and mark it as one of you favorites! You won’t be sorry. Now, onto her recipe. This recipe is for a healthy chocolate covered cherry. I bet we all remember the ones you used to buy in the store full of the sugary syrup. Kelly let that be her guide in creating this beautiful dessert. This says Valentines day to me! (Recipe Here)
10. Dark Chocolate Mint Truffle Cake
Dark Chocolate + Mint is amazing and this cake uses those flavors to the fullest. Thanks to Life Made Full you can make this for your sweetheart. I will say, the recipe has quite a bit of maple syrup in it. But for a treat, this is perfect! (Recipe Here)
11. Dark Chocolate Cherry Rum Truffles
When I look at this recipe I think of the word fancy. If you want to get a little fancy, these truffles are for you and Paleo Fondue pulls out all of the stops in this recipe. They are almost Paleo. (Recipe Here)
12. Rose and Coconut Candy
Candy can be healthy and My Heart Beets shows you how with her Rose and Coconut Candy. I have never used rose water in a recipe but it sounds awesome, especially for Valentine’s Day! The main ingredient is coconut butter and contains a lot of healthy (and delicious) fats. (Recipe HERE)
13. Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
I don’t think Valentines Day would be complete without a Chocolate Dipped Strawberry recipe. Hollywood Homestead shows you how to make dairy-free dipped strawberries. Plus, if you can do dairy, you can use dark chocolate OR unsweetened chocolate with stevia added for a sugar-free option. The options are endless! (Recipe HERE)
14. 50+ Grain-Free Valentine’s Desserts
I told you I was going to give you 14 recipes. But this 14th one is a MAJOR one! It’s a round-up of recipes with over 50 grain-free Valentines Dessert Recipes. Thanks Life Made Full!! (Recipes Here)
